How do you celebrate your new year?  Making resolutions for a new year?  Making a pun saying ‘see you next year’ an hour before?

Well, Spaniards & Latinos have their own ways. Let’s see some of the craziest Spanish new year traditions

1. The first one is of grapes In Colombia, Mexico & in many South American countries on the new year eve, Latinos eat 12 grapes, one for each mid night hour. The legends say it brings good fortune & saves you from dark spirits.

2. Running around the house with a bag Oh hell yes!! Do you love traveling? So do the world’s largest Hispanic population.  Hispanic people who like traveling, make rounds around their houses with a bag in their hand. Why? you ask, well, who knows, you may actually go around the world.

3. Colored underpants Remember how they say ‘feel from within’ Yes. It is exactly the same thing. As per the south american traditions (Specially in Peru, Chile, Ecuador, and Mexico) the undergarments of a specific color bless you with different things. For eg. Yellow gives you money, red gives you love & Green blesses you with good health

4. Just sit down You want a raise or a promotion in job? Don’t work. On the new year eve ,just sit on the chair before the clock hits 00:00:01. Good night boss!!

5. Proteins & VITAMIN M Do you want to get a lot of money in the new year? Just eat a spoon full of lentils at midnight. Proteins plus Dinero!!!
